Verizon Wireless and The Pepsi Bottling Group are targeting Hispanic consumers in southern California with an in-pack game and a coupon to drives them to Verizon Wireless dealers.
Consumers purchasing specially marked Pepsi 24-pack cubes at participating Food 4 Less supermarkets throughout Los Angeles and Orange County get a game piece that lets them know if they are the winner of an LG camera phone, a $50 Verizon Wireless gift card or an ear bud headsets. The instant-win game runs through Aug. 24.
The cubes also include a coupon good for $20 off the price of a phone from Verizon Wireless with a new two-year customer agreement on any calling plan $39.99 or higher, as well as savings on other Pepsi and Kroger products purchased at Food 4 Less.
The promo is supported through Spanish-language TV and radio, in-store merchandising and retailer circulars.
“Reaching the Latino consumer in southern California is a key priority for both The Pepsi Bottling Group and Verizon Wireless,” David Orr, director of field marketing for The Pepsi Bottling Group in Southern California, said in a statement.
Following the initial run at Food 4 Less supermarkets, the promotion will be extended to up to 300 local independent Latino retailers in southern California from Aug. 29 through Sept. 24.
