Urban Outfitters Inc., a Philadelphia-based apparel direct marketer/wholesaler, reported net income of $5.5 million for the quarter ended Jan. 31, a gain over $5.2 million for the period ended Jan. 31, 1999.
Net sales for the quarter increased by 22% to $74.8 million over $61.1 million for the comparable quarter last year, driven in part by the Company’s Anthropologie direct response sales which increased 90% over the comparable quarter last year.
Net income for the year ended a 31% increase to $18.7 million over $15.8 million for the previous year. Net sales for the year were $276.1 million, a gain over $208.9 million for the year ended Jan. 31, 1999.
