Tennis Magazine has attracted five new sponsors to its U.S. Open kickoff event held later this month in New York City.
Balance Bars, Celebrex, Chrysler, Fidelity Investments and 7-UP PLUS will join Evian and Michelob Ultra as primary sponsors of the Tennis Magazine Grand Slam. This interactive tennis experience, held in Grand Central Terminal’s Vanderbilt Hall on Aug. 27, unofficially kicks off the 2004 U.S. Open Tennis Championships. Now in its third year, the event features a full-size tennis court, rally wall, fast-serve cage and a variety of other hands-on tennis experiences for consumers of all ages.
“While the publication has a tremendous history and brand recognition, the Grand Slam has allowed Tennis Magazine to develop a fully integrated advertising and marketing program that helps companies and our sponsors take their message well beyond the pages of our magazine,” said Jeff Williams, the magazine’s publisher, in a statement.
This year’s event will also showcase the participation of leading manufacturers Head, Prince and Wilson. Publisher and former tennis champion Chris Evert will host the third annual event.
Current tennis pros scheduled to appear include Robby Ginepri, Lleyton Hewitt and Todd Martin. Tennis legends Owen Davidson, Roy Emerson, Ken Rosewall and Fred Stolle, along with tennis-playing celebrities will interact with tens of thousands of consumers who pass through Grand Central Terminal.
