TRIS3CT has hired Kevin Gilbert as chief strategy officer, responsible for directing the agency’s research and account planning.

Most recently, Gilbert worked at Arc Worldwide/Leo Burnett as vice president, strategic planning director responsible for leading brand, promotional, digital and retail strategy for McDonald’s. During his tenure, he led strategic development on the brand’s award-winning and largest-ever digital partnership with Avatar. In addition to launching several new product initiatives including McCafé, Angus Third Pounders and Snack Wraps, he led programs to reinvigorate core brand equities including the Happy Meal and the store experience.

He reports to Chief Executive Officer Dick Thomas Officer. Tris3ct ranked No. 68 on the 2010 Promo 100.

GMR Marketing has opened an office in Singapore. GMR Singapore will serve as the agency’s hub for the Asia Pacific region.

Lisa Johnson will head the office, bringing sports marketing experience, most recently from working as the director of sponsor services of the Delhi 2010 Commonwealth Games.

Her experience also includes senior client services director work involving four Olympic Games (Sydney 2000, Athens 2004, Vancouver 2010 and London 2012), two Commonwealth Games (Manchester 2002, Delhi 2010) and an Asian Games (Doha 2006). Last year, GMR opened for business in the UK, Germany, Poland, Spain and Russia, bringing its worldwide location to 23.

Last month, GMR hired Olympic Games marketer Allen Brooks as vice president, international client management. GMR ranked No. 15 on the 2010 Promo 100.
