Experian Marketing Solutions chairman Tom Newkirk and CEO Scot Thomas have resigned their positions effective April 1.
Deborah Zuccarini has been named president of the Marketing Solutions unit. She was formerly executive vice president and chief marketing officer of the unit. Previously, she served as COO of CRM firm Nykamp Consulting Group, the company said.
Newkirk said Tuesday that he left to pursue the development of the Saratoga National Golf Club, a project he has worked on for the last five years. The company employs about 100 and has a Web site at www.golfsaratoga.com. Newkirk moved his office to Saratoga Springs, NY, last July.
Thomas is an investor in Chicago-based Scooterworks (www.scooterworks.com) a four-year-old direct mail and Internet company specializing in the importation and restoration of Vespa Italian motor scooters. He plans to run the day-to-day operations there.
Newkirk and Thomas are co-founders of Direct Marketing Technologies, a database services company launched in 1981. The company was sold to Experian in 1997. Both Newkirk and Thomas subsequently joined Experian and will be available to Experian as consultants.
The two had worked to integrate Direct Marketing Technologies and Metromail into Experian. “It was always that Tom and I would integrate those two companies and then move on,” Thomas said. Experian purchased Metromail in 1998.
Both Newkirk and Thomas had contracts with Experian that expired about one year ago, Thomas said.
Experian Marketing Solutions is comprised of Direct Marketing Technologies, Metromail and Target Marketing Services, the marketing division of the former TRW Credit. Experian, an information services company based in Orange, CA, is a division of Great Universal Stores plc.
