TNT Airing In-Game Vignettes for Dodge Charger

Posted on by Chief Marketer Staff

Turner Network Television (TNT) and Dodge have entered into an integrated marketing partnership in support of the automaker’s new Hemi powered 2006 Dodge Charger R/T.

As part of the agreement, TNT is producing and airing a series of in-game vignettes during the network’s coverage of the 2005 NBA Playoffs that will serve as lead-ins to live game action following a commercial break.

The vignettes feature a Charger R/T touring through the streets and landmarks of select NBA cities hosting playoff games before ending its journey at the arena of the host team.

Featured cities include Miami, Chicago, San Antonio, Dallas, Phoenix, and Detroit. Some of the featured sites include South Beach in Miami, Lake Shore Drive in Chicago, The Alamo in San Antonio, America West Arena in Phoenix and The West End in Dallas.

Though the automobile is the featured product and is mentioned by on-air personalities, there is no on-screen call to action to drive consumers to the Dodge Web site, according to TNT spokesman Sal Petruzzi.

This is the second time Dodge has partnered with TNT. Last year, the cable network produced Magnum Hot Spot Highlights, featuring TNT analyst Craig Sager behind the wheel of a 2005 Dodge Magnum, touring various hot spots around select NBA cities hosting playoff games.
