Time Inc. has filed a multimillion-dollar lawsuit against Publishers Services Exchange (PSE) and its owner Dennis Simpson, alleging trademark infringement and improper solicitation.
The lawsuit, filed June 25 with the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, states that Simpson, through PSE or other entities, has sent acquisition and renewal notices throughout the country for titles like Time, Sports Illustrated, People, Fortune, Golf and Popular Science.
The pieces contain counterfeit versions of Time trademarks, the complaint said.
Time has received 37 complaints from consumers concerning the Simpson mailing, the papers said.
