To take the heat off travelers’ summer gas woes, Thrifty Car Rental recently launched a sweepstakes awarding a daily prize of a pre-paid gas card worth $1,800.
Consumers go to the Web site, Thrifty.com, click on the contest logo, and give the Tulsa, OK-based company information about their preferred airline, if they travel for business or pleasure, and when they plan on renting their next car. Consumers can also opt-in for additional information from Thrifty. The contest runs through July 31.
The American Express “Fill-it-up” value card may be used at participating gasoline stations that honor the card. The card expires 12 months after awarded. Entries are limited to one per person
The prize’s $1,800 value represents the average fuel costs for one vehicle yearly based on the U.S. Department of Energy’s estimate of an average of 14 gallons of gas per week, filling up 52 weeks per year at approximately $2.50 per gallon.
