Having trouble with a leaky pipe or an unruly rose bush? This Old House is on the road again this summer to have its experts answer just such questions and more.
The show’s experts, including master carpenter Norm Abram, general contractor Tom Silva, plumbing and heating expert Richard Trethewey and landscape contractor Roger Cook, will travel across the country to meet and talk with fans.
The series of daylong events will take place at local Home Depots in six major cities—, Minneapolis, Boston, Dallas and Atlanta— off at New York City’s Grand Central Terminal on Aug. 18.
The Meet This Old House tour was built by Home Depot and includes information and instruction on a variety of topics from interior design to what should be included in a toolbox. Visitors can test some tools or guess the name and use of a particular item in the Ask This Old House What is it? segment, for a chance to win a $250 Home Depot gift card. A sweepstakes and gift bags support the tour, which ends Oct. 6.
People can enter the This Old House Grand Sweepstakes at the events or at Thisoldhouse.com/anniversary, for a chance at the grand prize, a two-year lease of a Ford F-150 truck. The first-prize winner gets a $5,000 Home Depot gift card; second prize is $3,000 in Discover gift cards and third prize is a trip to the current This Old House project house.
The experts will also stop by the homes of locals to offer first-hand expertise on home problems. Viewers interested in receiving a house call can submit questions at Thisoldhouse.com.
Tour sponsors include American Standard Cos., Discover Card, Ford, Strait-Line Electronic Tools, Industrial Tools, Liquid Nails Adhesives, Philips Lighting Co, State Farm and others.
The new season of the This Old House Hour premiers on PBS Oct. 6 at 8 p.m. (ET).
