Sykes Enterprises Inc., a Tampa, FL-based international teleservices agency reported a decline in revenues for 2004 fiscal year that ended in December due to the migration of clients’ call volume to its offshore call centers.
Sykes reported revenues generated in North America and offshore operations totaled $283.3 million, compared to $321.2 million for the prior fiscal year. The company said each telemarketing “seat” offshore generates roughly half the dollar equivalent of a U.S. “seat.”
The percentage of Sykes U.S. based telemarketing “seats” declined 20% in the fourth quarter of 2004, compared to 54% declined for the same quarter in the previous year.
Sykes’ number of offshore “seats” increased 75% in the fourth quarter of 2004, compared to 54% for same quarter in fiscal 2003.
