Joy Global Inc. of Milwaukee has signed a five-year contract to outsource the teleservices help desk used by its employees to TechTeam Global Inc., based in Southfield, MI, for undisclosed terms. Joy Global is a manufacturer and distributor of mining equipment.
The contract provides for telephone technical support for 3,000 employees worldwide, beginning in the U.S., followed by the United Kingdom, Australia and South Africa. TechTeam will provide the services from a call center in Davenport, IA
Joy Global to date has operated its own telephone help desks in multiple locations. This will free up staff to focus on strategic business initiatives versus day-to-day operational problems, said Patsy Reichert, director or network support services for Joy Global.
