Talbots Predicts J. Jill Acquisition Will Save $30 Million

The Talbots Inc. said that it will save $30 million in costs stemming from its J. Jill acquisition. The savings will apply to the company’s fiscal 2007 period.

In February, when Talbots purchased J. Jill for $517 million, cost savings were foreseen at the $25 million level. The savings are the result of efficiencies in the sourcing, distribution, store operations and back-office functions.
