Subway Exec Joins Intercontinental Hotel Group as CMO

InterContinental Hotels Group has appointed former Subway executive Tom Seddon as its news chief marketing officer.

Seddon, 39, replaces Peter Gowers who worked as chief executive of the hotel chain’s Asia Pacific region. The post begins Nov. 1 and is based in the U.K.

In his new role, Seddon will oversee hotel brands InterContinental Hotels & Resorts, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express, Staybridge Suites, Candlewood Suites and Hotel Indigo. He will be responsible for global marketing strategy for each brand, including worldwide sales, brand management and distribution marketing, the company said. In addition, Seddon will oversee Intercontinental Hotel Group’s guest loyalty program Priority Club Rewards.

Seddon joins the Intercontinental Hotel Group from Subway, where he worked as chief executive of the company’s franchisee advertising fund trust.
