Viral video Web site StupidVideo.com has launched a new program that rewards users with cash for video clip content.

The Stupid Videos rewards program offers daily cash prizes to consumers who upload videos to the Web site. The creators behind user-generated clips that are featured on the homepage receive $5. Another $100 is given to the funniest video of the week, and $1,000 to the clip deemed the best and most e-mailed of the month.

StupidVideos.com will select the funniest viral video at the end of the year and award a $25,000 grand prize. In addition, the company is distributing $2,500 to two members who represent the most active users in the Web site community.

Details are available at StupidVideos.com/Win. “This is a very straight-forward approach to rewarding users who create funny viral videos,” said, Karina Kogan, general manager of StupidVideos.com. “Basically, if our editors like it and feature it, our users make money.”

Online materials support the rewards program.
