Sprinks, an About Inc. company that is a division of Primedia, has inked an agreement with America Online Inc. to provide Sprinks’ pay-per-click content-sponsored links to AOL sites.
The Sprinks links will appear on Netscape, CompuServe and the AOL Instant Message Service Web site.
The service, ContentSprinks, lets advertisers bid for sponsored links that will be placed on relevant editorial pages on Web sites (Direct Newsline, March 2, 2003). On a Web page about weddings on a women’s magazine site, for example, content links might include a link to a catering service in the first position and a link to a flower purveyor in the second position.
