Skin for Sale? New Web Site Thinks So

First, there was the young man who sold space on his forehead to an advertiser. And then a young woman appeared looking to rent out some epidermis on her body parts.

looks to lease his forehead for ads

And now, a new Web site has emerged where advertisers and those selling some skin can meet and greet. As of yesterday,
Bodybillboardz.com had 21 recent listings of people willing to parade around with advertisements affixed to their bodies for a wide range of prices, and on a wide range of anatomical locations.

In one listing under the “Arm Advertising” category, Matt Hamilton, a “guy living in a college town,” was offering arm and forehead space for rent. In his description, he said he barely slept and was “out and about” 18+ hours a day. The specs for his deal called for the use of temporary tattoos for 31 days and he included the caveat “Please no porn or nudity, unless the price is right.” The price? $1,500.

He also said he would be willing to learn about the product or business he would be advertising “in order to educate inquirers.” He includes a photo.

Interested advertisers can choose from nine categories. In addition to arm ads, there are belly, head, leg, T-shirt, back, chest, international bodies and hummm pets.

There were no listings under the pet category and head advertising had the most offerings at five. There was one posting under “chest advertising” that appeared to indicate that the lister understood the phrase, truth in advertising.

Listings were from all types of people including a stilt walker charging $125 and a Texas Honor Council student.

The student was hoping to earn some cash to “start my post-graduation life and pay off student loans.” He wanted $2,500 to lease his forehead for 30 days, but also cautioned would-be advertisers, “Nothing offensive will be displayed.”
