As part of the agreement, Skechers will feature the 22-year-old singer in its sports and fusion styles in a variety of scenes that reflect Underwood’s interests. Underwood will appear in Skechers ads and P-O-P. The campaign, which will launch this fall, will coincide with the
American Idols Live! Tour 2005 and the debut of Underwood’s country album set for release in November on 19 Recordings/Arista records.

Underwood became the new American Idol after viewers cast more than 500 million votes during the season. American Idol ended its fourth season in May.

“We are extremely excited to have Carrie represent Skechers in our marketing campaigns, and to be affiliated with such a dynamic performer,” said Michael Greenberg, president of Skechers in a statement. “She is the kind of star young women can relate to. The mix of fashion and music is essential to both our industries and truly benefits the stars and the brand’s associated with them.”

Skechers previously tapped other celebrities, including Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera to promote the brand.
