Abacus Direct Corp., Broomfield, CO, has named David Paulus, vice president, New Markets. He most recently served PerformanceData, a division of Trans Union Corp., as a vice president.

Royal Mail US Inc., part of the British Post Office, has named Matthew Hannah, vice president, sales, with responsibility for international bulk mailing services to businesses throughout North America.

eBay, a person-to-person online trading community, unveiled a new site called eBay Great Collections. Available at www.ebaygreatcollections.com and from the eBay homepage, the site features antiques, art and rare collectibles offered and guaranteed by many of the world’s auction houses, galleries and dealers.

RealTime Media Inc., an online promotional agency, has received $8.5 million in financing from a consortium of firms led by Safeguard Scientifics, Inc. Streamline.com, Inc., Westwood, MA, has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Beacon Home Direct, Inc., d/b/a Scotty’s Home Market, a Chicago-based Internet retailer of grocery store products. The proposed acquisition calls for the exchange of Streamline.com stock for Scotty’s stock, which is expected to result in the issuance of 4.3 million shares of Streamline.com stock. The acquisition is expected to be completed by the first quarter of next year.

JC Penney, Plano, TX, has opened catalog centers in most Genovese drugstores in the metro New York area, Long Island and Connecticut. Customers can have their orders delivered to the catalog center located in their neighborhood, to their home or any other location.
