Amazon.com Inc. has opened its new online computer store. Analysts noted in news reports that Amazon is dipping into the PC business at the industry’s lowest point in years. Seattle-based Amazon is offering machines made by Apple Computer Corp., Compaq Computer Corp., Hewlett-Packard Co., International Business Machines Corp. and Toshiba Corp. Amazon is partnering with Ingram Micro Inc., to ship the products.
Travel Web site Travelocity.com Inc., has formed an exclusive agreement with JetBlue Airways to become its sole online marketing partner. As part of the deal, Travelocity.com will offer JetBlue fares online, creating a new guaranteed revenue stream for Travelocity.com. The partnership also includes an integrated marketing program, involving promotions, advertising and e-mail campaigns. JetBlue now operates 76 flights a day with a fleet of 14 Airbus A320 aircraft.
