Gateway Inc. has appointed Deloitte & Touche LLP to be its independent auditor. The Poway, CA-based technology direct marketer was in the market for a new auditor after PricewaterhouseCoopers declined to bid for re-appointment. In a statement, Gateway stressed that there were no disagreements between itself and PwC on any auditing or financial statement practices.
RedEnvelope, a gift marketer based in San Francisco, said that its fourth-quarter 2004 revenue would be in the $16.9 million to $17.3 million range. The company did not give any guidance regarding its profit or loss for the quarter. In fourth-quarter 2003, RedEnvelope generated $15.1 million in revenue.
Travelzoo Inc., an Internet publisher of deals from a variety of travel firms, generated $6.5 million during first-quarter 2004, up 74% from the $3.5 million it realized in first-quarter 2003. The company’s income rose from $385,000 to $1 million during the same period. The New York-based firm’s quarter ended March 31.
