Sheraton Serves Pie

Four Points by Sheraton is dishing up pie in an effort to make its 130 hotels homier this summer.

The chain has put pie on its restaurant and room-service menus, and will give a free piece to Platinum members of its Preferred Guest program, and to any guest on his birthday. Lobbies get an apple-pie scent.

Four Points kicked off the baking blitz on June 21 with “pie posse” street teams giving away slices of apple pie throughout New York. Hotels in seven U.S. cities and Toronto treated guests to free pie, too.

The push is part of Four Points’ “Comfort Isn’t Complicated” campaign that highlights simple pleasures, including free bottled water, Seattle’s Best coffee and free Internet access in all rooms. One of its current tableau-style TV spots shows an apple pie with a single slice out of it. (Others show a rocking chair, a fire, a pinwheel blowing in the breeze, and a baby crib musical mobile.)
