Shell Builds Biker Appeal in Harley-Davidson Deal

Shell is putting its stations on the map with bikers with an online road map service from Harley-Davidson.

Shell will also put its branding on Harley-Davidson rider’s map as the official fuel sponsor of the 105th Harley anniversary celebration in Milwaukee next August, an event expected to draw 100,000 die-hard Harley owners.

The motorcycle maker’s online Harley-Davidson Road Planner will soon pinpoint the locations of Shell’s 14,000 branded stations nationwide. The planner provides motorcyclists with an interactive map on the Harley site (http://www.Harley-Davidson.com) to pre-plan their trips.

“Shell has more locations than any other brand and adding Shell to Harley’s Ride Planner will help riders plan and enjoy their rides even more,” said Larry Burch, vice president of Shell retail in a statement.

Shell is still in the development stages of its activation around the 105th Harley anniversary event, with details yet to be disclosed. But there will doubtless be signage and, quite likely, directions to Shell stations in the area.
