Seven Sweeps Winners Head to Harry Potter Signing

More than 4,000 muggles entered a Harry Potter sweeps in the hopes of winning a trip to Europe for an event marketing the debut of the seventh and final book in the series.

Seven winners, ranging in age from nine to 20 and hailing from Texas to Pennsylvania, will help author J.K. Rowling celebrate the July 21 release at a moonlight signing event at London’s Natural History Museum. At the event, Rowling will sign books and do a reading. Each winner will be given a copy of the U.S. edition of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.”

The event is also expected to be attended by 1,700 fans from around the world, including 500 who will attend the midnight reading. The sweeps ended June 15. (Promo Xtra, June 6, 2007)

printing an unprecedented 12 million copies of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.”
