Following the lead of the U.S. Postal Service, Royal Mail has launched a sale on direct mail rates in the U.K.
Specifically, Royal Mail is offering a 20% discount on new or additional mailings next March and April in hopes of encouraging both mailers and non-mailers to test the medium as a standalone activity or as part of an integrated campaign.
This action follows research from media agency group OMG showing that direct mail was the only advertising channel to show an increase in response rates in the first half of 2009, according to Royal Mail.
Earlier this year, the Postal Regulatory Commission gave the green light to USPS proposals to offer discounts on certain types of standard and first class mail to spur usage. Click here to learn more http://directmag.com/postal/0925-postal-commission/index.html.
