Rivet London Gets Swept Into Lowe

The London office of Rivet, an Interpublic Group of Cos. agency, is beginning a transition that will align it with another Interpublic agency, Lowe London as of Jan. 1, 2009.

The move was a client-driven decision to merge several shared clients, including Nokia, Unilever and Electrolux, under one firm.

Both Lowe and Rivet are located in the same office on different floors, so the transition is expected to go smoothly. No staff changes are expected, said Tom Cunningham, the vice president of corporate communication for Interpublic.

Rivet, an independently operated company, will be reporting to Steve Gatfield, the CEO of Lowe, but will collaborate with the Lowe London team, Cunningham said.

Rivet London offers promotion, advertising and one-to-one and interactive marketing.

Last year, the Australia and New Zealand offices of Rivet were also merged with Lowe. The largest Rivet offerings are now in North America, based in Chicago, San Francisco and New York.
