Restoration Hardware Inc., Corte Madera, CA, reports net sales for the second quarter ended July 31 of $53.9 million. This is an increase of 35.8% from net sales of $39.7 million for the same period a year ago.

Comparable stores net sales for the second quarter increased 1.2% from the same period a year ago. At the end of the period, 47 stores were included in the comparable store sales base compared with 23 stores last year. The drop in comparable sales over last quarter (which showed an increase of 18.4%) was attributed partly to the sale of a division and a significant increase in furniture sales.

The company sent out approximately 450,000 summer catalogs during the second quarter.
