Reese Teleservices (formerly Reese Brothers Inc.) plans to open a new call center later this month in Hopewell Township, PA, in a space formerly occupied by another telemarketing firm, Telespectrum.
Altoona, PA-based Reese Teleservices is expected to hire 250 employees for its new center, mainly full time, according to a story in the Pittsburgh Business Times.
The opening of the new center appears to signal a comeback for Reese, which recently sold a call center affiliate, Commerce & Communications LLC in Salt Lake City and laid off employees, the Pittsburgh Business Times continued. It also closed centers in Murray, UT and Indiana, PA.
The company became embroiled in a lawsuit with former major client over a billing dispute, the article continued.
At one time Reese operated as many as 10 call centers and was ranked among the 10 largest telemarketing companies in the nation. It started in the fundraising sector for nonprofit groups and expanded to do commercial telemarketing.
