R.R. Donnelley & Sons Co., Chicago, plans to consolidate its Eudora, KS, direct mail operations. The transition is expected to be completed by August 2000.
The company said in a statement that the plant is no longer economical and that the plant’s customers and printing and collating equipment will transfer to Newark, NJ.
Some 135 employees work at the plant and will be assisted in finding comparable open positions within the company or will be offered separation packages and extended medical benefits if eligible, the company said.
The plant is the smallest of four plants operating as part of RRD Direct, the company’s direct mail business.
