Quality of Online Credit Card Applications Declines

ComScore Inc. reported a 30% rise in online credit card applications from consumers with subprime (660 or lower) credit scores in the first quarter, compared to the same period last year. The market research firm also uncovered other signs of economic distress.

The volume on credit card applications coming from consumers with prime (greater than 660) credit scores declined by 16% during the first quarter, compared to same quarter in 2007.
