Chicago agency Marketing Werks pulled together 14 mobile promotion vehicles representing some of America’s top brands to be on display outside PROMO Expo at Chicago’s Navy Pier.
The Showcase was a backdrop to the sessions on the subject which were held during the show, and provided attendees with an up-close look at how effective these kinds of vehicles can be for taking their brand messages to the streets, literally.
The showcase, which feature such head-turners as the Hershey’s Kissmobile, the Seaworld Shamumobile (a customized VW Beetle, complete with whale-tail and dorsal fin), the Spammobile (built on the chasis of a street car to resemble the world’s largest can of Spam), the Echrich Fun House, and many others. The vehicles and their ambassador drivers and staff served up samples of their products to the public, gave out T-shirts and other goodies.
The spectacle didn’t only attract the attention of the thousands of attendees coming in for PROMO Expo. Both Fox and NBC featured the Showcase in their morning news broadcasts yesterday and today, featuring PROMO Publisher Kerry J. Smith who provided a tour of the exhibit to the networks’ morning show personalities, who had a great time eating Spam-burgers and Hershey’s Kisses on camera.
