Pay By Touch Names Muriel as CMO

Posted on by Chief Marketer Staff

Payment firm Pay By Touch has hired its first chief marketing officer.

Catherine Muriel takes the new post at Pay By Touch this week, reporting to John Costello, president-consumer and retail.

Muriel had been CMO at E-LOAN, and earlier held the same job at Upromise, whose coalition loyalty program lets members accrue rebates from participating brands in a college-education savings account.

San Francisco-based Pay By Touch said it has enrolled 3.5 million consumers in its system. Shoppers register for Pay By Touch in a retail store that offers the payment service, then use their fingerprint to pay at checkout. The service is now available in 3,000 stores.

Muriel will work with Caroline McNally, executive vice president of brand strategy, who oversees strategic development of the Pay By Touch brand, the company said.
