Oscar Mayer Fills Hunger For Music Downloads

The Oscar Mayer Lunchables’ brand is adding a little music to mix under a partnership with Radio Disney and RealNetworks’ RealPlayer Music Store, offering consumers a chance to receive free music downloads with the purchase of a Lunchables package.

Consumers who buy specially marked Lunchables packages can look inside for a winning game message sticker. Winners can log onto
Yourfreesong.com to verify the winning code and then redeem it on the RealPlayer Music Stores. The RealPlayer Music Stores offers visitors access to a special play list of Radio Disney hits and a library of more than 1 million songs from four major labels and more than 500 independent labels.

Oscar Mayer launched the music download promotion on 75 million packages of its Lunchables products. One in five packages includes a winning code.

“We were seeking a unique opportunity to delight our loyal Lunchables purchasers,” said Deanie Elsner, senior category business director at Oscar Mayer, in a statement. “Given the growth in music downloading, especially for personal digital music players, we knew this type of promotion would be a welcome and fun surprise for the whole family.”

Oscar Mayer is giving away 16 million downloads as part of the promotion. Each download is worth $1.

Consumers have until July 4 to redeem the music downloads. The promotion runs through July 4. Internet materials and TV and radio spots support. Northfield, Il-based Kraft Foods Global, Inc. sponsors.
