Orvis Inc. and Volvo Cars of North America Inc. plan to market to each other’s customer bases: Volvo will advertise in the Orvis catalog and Volvo cars will be used in various Orvis ads and promotional material.
Orvis, which claims to be the nation’s oldest mail order catalog, and Volvo assert that while their customer bases differ, the companies share a commitment to quality, safety, and the environment. The relationship between the two companies began in 1997 with the launch of the first generation Cross Country all-wheel-drive wagon.
