Oracle Acquires Thinking Machines’ Data Mining Unit

Software maker Oracle Corp., Redwood Shores, CA, has acquired Thinking Machines Inc.’s data mining business, including flagship product Darwin. Terms were not disclosed.

The data mining software will be integrated into Oracle’s customer relationship management suite of products, which will facilitate implementation of e-business solutions developed by Oracle customers, according to the company. Oracle will also receive the rights to the think.com and thinkingmachines.com domain names.
