Nordstrom.com CEO Dan Nordstrom and president Mike Smith have resigned.
Former Nordstrom co-chairman Ray Johnson will serve as interim CEO and president of Nordstrom.com, the company’s catalog and Internet division.
Nordstrom, 39, is a fourth generation family member to the founder of Nordstrom Inc., John W. Nordstrom. He began his career with Nordstrom as a stock person in the women’s shoe department at the company’s Bellevue, WA store.
Smith joined the management team in 2000. He was named a board member in 1999.
Last month, Nordstrom reached an agreement with Benchmark Capital Partners and Madrona Investment Group to buy their majority interest in the Norstrom.com Web site for $70 million, according to Reuters news service.
