ASSOCIATION OF HISPANIC ADVERTISING AGENCIES: has named a new chairman: Gisela Girard, president and COO of Creative Civilization, a San Antonio, TX, marketing and advertising agency. As a member of AHAA, Girard’s contributions include leading the education committee. As chairman, she plans to focus on strategies that will position the association as the thought leader in the industry, bringing forward new and better methods of outreach that will benefit clients, agencies and consumers. She plans to work with other Hispanic organizations and influential groups to strengthen the industry’s position on a national basis.
AARP AND WALGREENS: have launched a two-year program of offer free health screenings by way of a fleet of nine 40-foot vehicles customized to handle the screenings for adults. The tour, handled by Marketing Werks, began yesterday in New York City and will travel to 3,000 communities nationwide. This marks the first time AARP has had a partner with the initiative.
ORGANIC: the digital communications agency, has promoted Conor Brady from vice president of creative to senior vice president, chief creative officer, and the promotion of Steve Kerho from vice president to senior vice president of analytics, media and marketing optimization.
