COTY, INC.: has signed a licensing agreement to develop and market fragrances under the Baby Phat by Kimora Lee Simmons brand. The deals marks the debut for Baby Phat in the fragrance and toiletries sector.
MCDONALD’S: restaurants in the Tampa Bay area have signed a sponsorship agreement with the Tampa Bay Lightning that will give the fast-food chain naming rights to the ticket office at the St. Pete Times Forum in downtown Tampa. In addition to putting its name atop the Forum’s ticket windows, McDonald’s logo will appear on arena ticket envelopes, Web sites and other promotional materials.
KOHL’S CORP.: is introducing new clothing lines: everGirl, apt. 9, Chaps and Fuentes. It will also enter the beauty business with Esteé Lauder Cos. to carry three new brands: American Beauty, Flirt and Good Skin.
ANHEUSER-BUSCH FOUNDATION: is donating $1 million to hurricane recovery efforts in Florida. The donation is divided among The Volunteer Florida Foundation; The Florida Hurricane Relief Fund; and the American Red Cross.
THE SOURCE MAGAZINE: New York, has signed Burger King, Pontiac and Boost Mobile as presenting sponsors of the Oct. 8-10 THE SOURCE Hip-Hop Music Awards in Miami. A TV special on the ceremony airs Nov. 30 on BET.
NEXT MARKETING: Atlanta, will handle sponsorship deals for Champ Car team RuSPORT, headed by team owner Carl Russo. The sports marketing firm will negotiate sponsorships and execute campaigns, taking the onus off the motorsports team to handle sponsors’ promotions.
