SOUTHWEST AIRLINES: has extended its sponsorship deal with the NBA and WNBA and will work with the basketball leagues on community outreach programs. The airline will also expand its Shoot For Hope campaign, which selects young people who are working to overcome health issues or physical disabilities for a VIP trip to an NBA game, to include the WNBA. Southwest Airlines and the NBA will also sponsor a traveling exhibit from the National Civil Rights Museum exhibition, “The Quest for Equality: African-American Pioneers in the Sport of Basketball,” in four NBA cities. The airline is also considering a return to the National Hockey league.
XA, INC.: a Chicago-based event marketing agency, has named Jeff Smith, director of business development in New York City to build business on the east coast. Most recently, he worked for KSE Productions, an event marketing and production company based in Washington, DC.
