GM: has appointed Megan Stooke as Hummer marketing director, effective today. She replaces Liz Vanzura, who left the job to become marketing director for Cadillac on Feb. 1. In her new role, Stooke develops and executes Hummer’s overall marketing strategy, positioning and branding for its products worldwide. In addition, she oversees an internal staff and directs Hummer’s advertising agency, Modernista, Boston. Prior to joining Hummer, Stooke worked as director of advertising and sales promotion for the Chevrolet division since May 2005.

HBO: is taking its smash drama The Sopranos to the races— that is— part of a marketing campaign to promote the show’s upcoming season. On March 12, The Sopranos will sponsor Richard Childress Racing’s No. 07 Chevrolet Monet Carlo SS and driver Clint Bowyer in the UAW-DaimlerChrysler 400 at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The Sopranos logo will appear on the hood and quarter panels of Bowyer’s No. 07. The car’s rear quarter panel will feature a logo from the show’s famous bar, the Bada Bing. Grand Central Marketing, New York, handles. The sixth season of The Sopranos begins at 9 p.m. ET March 12 on HBO.

EURO RSCG CHICAGO: hired Donna Biernadski as group account director overseeing the agency’s work for Sprint. She had been VP-account director at Rapp Collins, supervising work for Hyatt Hotels, including the Hyatt Gold Passport loyalty program. Biernadski replaces Jenny Wang, who left the agency. Euro RSCG also promoted Lin Yelton to director of operations, a new post for the Chicago office; she had been director of production services, and has worked at the agency for eight years. Both women took their new jobs in January.
