WHIRLPOOL CORP.: and Maytag Corp. have received clearance from the U.S. Department of Justice to complete their proposed merger. Whirlpool plans to close the transaction no later than Monday.
GENERAL MOTORS: acknowledged that it is discussing the possible sale of Isuzu Motors Ltd. shares owned by GM in a private transaction. GM said there could be no assurance that any transaction will result from the discussions.
