WAL-MART STORES: has promoted Lawrence Jackson to president-CEO of its global procurement division, overseeing the purchasing offices in 28 countries that buy goods sold in Wal-Mart’s stores. Jackson had been executive VP for human resources, and earlier was president-COO at Dollar General Corp. before joining Wal-Mart in 2004. Susan Chambers replaces Jackson in H.R.; she had been executive VP-risk management and benefits administration.

BIG TENT ENTERTAINMENT: and Australia-based licensing agency Gaffney International have teamed up in a new partnership to build global marketing and brand-building opportunities. Under the agreement, the two companies will form a content board staffed by company executives to develop marketing initiatives that will benefit existing and new clients. Gaffney represents brands including Care Bears, Crocodile Hunter, Jack Daniels, Pepsi, Playboy, Strawberry Shortcake, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, The Wiggles, WWE and Yu-Gi-Oh! Big Tent’s clients include Alaska Momma, Miffy, the Koala brothers and the online teen community, Habbo Hotel.
