VERIZON: kicks off its sponsorship of the 2006 Asian Pacific American Film in Washington, DC with a nationwide video-trailer contest. Amateur filmmakers and directors submit original video spots that celebrate or highlight the spirit of the Asian Pacific American film experience. The winning entry will be chosen through a combination of votes from APA Film and the public who can view entries at APAFilm.org and at APA-sponsored events from Sept. 5-27. The winner gets $1,000 and has his or her clip screened on the festival’s opening night, Sept. 28. Entries must be received by Aug. 25; the festival runs through Oct. 7.
EURO RSCG LIFE: New York, hired Darlene Mednick as senior VP-managing director of ManagedEdge, the managed markets division of the healthcare-marketing agency. Mednick, a licensed pharmacist, had been senior VP-COO of Navitus Health Solutions. Havas-owned Euro RSCG Life has 44 offices globally.
