NINTENDO: is donating 100 party packs containing the Wii video game system to YMCA chapters across the country meant to keep kids entertained and active. Most of the outlets plan to incorporate active Wii games into Healthy Kids Day events planned for April 14. The goal is to show how the device gets kids off the couch and moving.

DENNY’S: has named Mark Chmiel to the new position of senior vice president, concept innovation, effective immediately. In the role, Chmiel will be responsible for identifying strategic business opportunities and managing projects designed to drive sales and evolve the Denny’s trademark to new categories of business. Most recently, Chmiel worked as chief marketing strategist for Fresh Enterprises, Inc. and the Baja Fresh division of Wendy’s International, Inc. He will be based at Denny’s corporate headquarters in Spartanburg, SC.
