WALGREENS: is teaming up with ABC’s “Live with Regis and Kelly” morning talk show to sponsor a special 3D Halloween episode. The drugstore chain is giving away free 3D glasses in its 6,000 stores to see the special effects on the show, which airs on Oct. 31. The glasses are available from the store’s photo department or can be sent for by mail. In addition, Walgreens is running Halloween-themed photo contests for the cutest costumed kid and pet for a chance to win store gift cards or photo packages. Photo submissions can be viewed at http://www.walgreens.com/store/promotion/halloween07/default.jsp. The contest runs through Nov. 12 Online marketing and in-store signage supports the promotion.

HALLMARK INC.: is the latest company to sign on to support Product RED with a collection of cause marketing-related products. The line includes Cards With Sound, note cards, holiday greeting cards, customizable photo cards, e-cards, gift wrap, flowers and artisan-made gifts. A larger rollout is planned for January. The Hallmark RED collection will help raise money for the Global Fund to help fund AIDS programs. Eight percent of net wholesales from the RED items will go to the cause, the company said. Since its inception in March 2006, sales from Product RED products have generated more than $45 million for the Global Fund. In-store signage and e-mail blasts support the launch.
