TYSON FOODS INC.: has partnered with Kemin Industries Inc. to develop and sell flavor enhancers to the North American pet food market. Under the deal, Tyson will manufacture the products from the company’s chicken, beef and pork plants. In turn, Kemin will market the products under the Topnotes and Palasurance brands to top pet food companies. Financial terms were not disclosed.
TALBOTS INC.: has named Paula Bennett as president of its J. Jill brand, effective Jan. 28. She replaces Phil Kowalczyk, who was appointed chief operating officer. Bennett, 58, joins J.Jill from Orchard Brands, where she works as chief executive of Appleseed’s, Tog Shop and WinterSilks brands. She has also held leadership posts at Tiffany & Co (Calvin Klein and Eileen Fisher Inc. Talbots runs 271 stores under the J. Jill brand, which target women 35 and over.
