IHOP, INC. Corp. has named Michael J. Archer as president of Applebee’s International, Inc., effective May 27. In this position, Archer will be responsible for leading the overall direction for all functional areas of Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill and Bar. He will be in charge of executing the vision and future brand evolution for the company, overseeing the leadership team, forging strong franchise relationships and developing tactical and strategic plans to improve business results. Most recently he was president and chief operating officer of T.G.I. Friday’s U.S.A., a subsidiary of Carlson Restaurants Worldwide Inc, where he oversaw the brand’s strategy, including operations, marketing, research and development, strategic sourcing, franchise operations, PR and human resources.

MOXIE INTERACTIVE: a division of Zenith Media Services and an interactive marketing agency, has hired Daina Middleton as senior vice president of Sunao, the agency’s proprietary division responsible for spotting the latest online and buzz marketing trends. In the role, Middleton will manage the customer insight, marketing analytics and emerging trends departments to ensure clients are receiving strategic thinking and execution of distinct and creative digital campaigns. Most recently, Middleton worked for Hewlett-Packard’s Imaging and Printing Group as director of global advertising and interactive marketing.
