CORONA: will link to country musician Kenny Chesney’s nationwide “Poets & Pirates” tour this summer. Corona will support the partnership with on-site signage at the tour venues and posters, pennants and banners at point of sale. The brand’s association will reinforce the connection with a TV spot featuring Chesney during the Country Music Awards on May 19. Chesney has won the CMA’s Country Entertainer of the Year award and is current holder of the title.
CROCS: has named Adam Baker to the new position of vice president of merchandising. Previously, Baker was vice president of product management for Under Armour, where he oversaw strategic planning, merchandising and business metrics for the men’s youth and international businesses. Before that, he held senior merchandising roles with Nike, Inc.
THE SPICE DEPOT: a provider of all-natural and organic spices and spice products, had appointed former Wal-Mart Executive Vice President John Ryan to its board of directors and also to the office of President Retail Development Worldwide. Ryan joined Wal-Mart in 1995 as executive vice president of international merchandising and marketing. He later assumed responsibility for global sourcing and supplier development. He retired from Wal-Mart in 2004.
