NIKE INC.: has promoted Eric Sprunk to the newly created role of vice president for product. Sprunk, 44, will be responsible for all Nike brand product across the company’s footwear, equipment and apparel engines from design and development to manufacturing. He has been with the company for 15 years working in senior financial, product and global management roles. He will report to Charlie Denson, president of the Nike brand.
Jan Singer, 44, will succeed Sprunk and become vice president of footwear. Singer joined Nike in 2004 and most recently served as vice president of footwear sport culture. In her new role, she will be responsible for creating and executing Nike’s global footwear creation strategy.
CHEROKEE INC.: a licensor and global brand management company has signed a sponsorship agreement for its Sideout brand with Todd Rogers, a Team USA Olympic Beach Volleyball athlete, at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Under the deal, Rogers will wear Sideout apparel at all of the Olympic beach volleyball competitions and medal ceremony, the company said. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
