Nestlé USA’s latest sweepstakes will use an in-pack ticket to name a new Willy Wonka.
The Wanna B Wonka sweeps puts game pieces in packages of several Wonka candy brands. One game piece carries the grand prize: A stint to be candy inventor Willy Wonka for a day, a $25,000 “salary,” and a family trip to create a new limited-edition Wonka candy.
Game pieces appear in Nerds, Nerds Rope, SweeTarts, Shockers and Laffy Taffy. Smaller prizes include purple MP3 players with Wonka-branded armbands (100) and Wonka candy (1 million). The in-pack sweeps runs through January 2007.
A second sweeps, a podcast tie-in with Radio Disney, breaks in June.
Both sweeps support the June unveiling of two Wonka candies. A launch event in New York City will sample the new candies; visitors can also have their photos taken near the Wonkamobile, then edit it later online to add cartoon and candy features. The Wonkamobile will make its annual summer tour through September, with stops at kid-targeted events.
Wonka.com posts photos taken at tour stops, and hosts a Wanna B Wonka game that lets kids run a virtual factory.
