NBC Universal has signed a multi-year marketing agreement with Volkswagen that will feature VW brand products and promotions in company films, DVDs and theme parks.
As part of the deal, Volkswagen plans to build brand awareness using a variety of NBC’s entertainment venues. The partnership will give the carmaker product placement in NBC television programming and advertisements and Universal movies. In return, Volkswagen plans to support NBC’s media and entertainment initiatives, including showing VW vehicles at Universal film premieres.
The partnership also calls for VW to consider original television programming and on-air film-related promotions. The campaign will focus on the U.S. and European markets. Financial details were not disclosed.
